Jessica Howard, R.S.W., Provisional Psychologist
After working alongside the Mamowichitowin program, and seeing the healing facilitated by this program, it is truly my honor to be working in this role. I am a Provisional Psychologist and a Registered Social Worker offering in-person services in the Edson and Hinton areas, and virtual services throughout Alberta. I bring over a decade of frontline experience supporting children, youth, and families.
I work with a broad range of clients, with a particular interest in supporting women through various (and complex!) life stages. I also enjoy working with men, children, and families as a whole. My therapeutic work draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), family systems theory, and play therapy, all guided by a person-centered lens. I am certified in Eye Movement Densenstization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and find this transformative for trauma and phobias. I have experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, sexual abuse, relationship challenges, and concerns related to self-harm and suicidal ideation.
In my (limited) spare time, I enjoy running after my kids, cooking elaborate dinners, hiking, mountain biking, and am part of a book club.
